Andy is the Features Editor of Today’s FlyFisher.com following three years as Editor of Total FlyFisher. Andy is a multi-capped England International in both loch-style and bank disciplines. A qualified instructor and lecturer, Andy has a wealth of fishery management experience.
Tom ‘Doc’ Sullivan has over 20 years guiding experience on the western Loughs of Corrib, Mask and Carra. He is the Irish agent for Airflo and Fulling Mill and is a keen competition angler. Tom has fished for Ireland on nine occasions. In the winter he suffers from withdrawal symptoms from fly fishing!
Richard is an experienced fly tier who specialises in imitative patterns for trout and grayling. Richard began fishing when he was seven years old. This led to many years of coarse fishing on his local rivers and stillwaters and very soon progressed on to fly fishing for trout.
Having fly fished from the age of ten, Lisa Isles has competed and fly fished worldwide in destinations such as Poland, Norway and New Zealand. Lisa is an Angling Trust and Fulling Mill Ambassador and hopes to continue to travel the world, inspiring others to do the same.
Ali Hutchens lives near the River Spey in the Highlands of Scotland. He has been fishing for over 40 years and guides on many of Scotland’s rivers such as the Tweed, Tay and Spey. In recent years he has fished on some great rivers in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Alongside his teammate at LTS – Jim Wennmark, he has made films of his fishing adventures. Ali is an accomplished fly tyer and is also part of the Partridge of Redditch Pro Team.
Ben Bangham has fly fished for over 25 years and first started guiding nearly 20 years ago. He has fished all over the world and has worked in the fishing trade in some fairly far-flung places. Ben is now a full time guide making his living from guiding and fly tying. He is a current England international, an ambassador for Fulling Mill and Guide Fly Fishing and is the UK Sales Manager for Costa.
Ben Fox is an Ex England Youth International, instructor with the charity Fishing4Schools, writer and professional angling guide and coach. His company, Fly Guy, operates in the north of England covering a selection of venues.
Airflo’s online marketing manager Ceri Thomas has been fly fishing for over 20 years targeting practically anything that swims. With a preference for wild fish in wild places, Ceri’s fishing travels have taken him far afield, including extensive visits to the USA. His main passion remains his local Welsh rivers and lakes.
North Yorkshire-based Clark is the Fly Fishing Specialist at Orvis UK’s Harrogate store, and a member of the Fly Fishers International (FFI) Guides Association. He also owns and runs EDIP Fly Fishing, a guiding service operating throughout the north of England. Clark is currently training as a single-handed casting instructor with both AAPGAI and FFI.
David Heseltine has been fly fishing since 1962 when he started casting a fly for chub on Shropshire’s River Severn. He progressed to his local syndicate and club waters before moving onto the reservoirs and the competition circuit. David fished on the competition scene for over 20 years and was captain of the successful Wychwood Otters- the last winners of the Benson and Hedges international in 1997. He has also fished for England and managed the England youth team. David has a wealth of experience on the midlands stillwaters where he has developed many successful fly patterns.
Jamie Sandford has been an avid fisherman all his life taking an interest in a variety of fishing styles both in the U.K. and abroad. Based in Cumbria he combines his love of fishing with being outdoors enjoying all aspects of the countryside. Jamie favourite style of fishing is lure fishing for trout, carp, pike and variety of sea species. He promotes fly fishing for carp through the Facebook page, Carp Champions.
Kevin Porteous is a multi-capped Scottish International angler having represented his country at both junior and senior level. He started fly fishing at the age of nine and spends most of his fishing time on still waters in pursuit of trout. He has recently developed many modern synthetic fly tying materials and is the man behind the Frozen North Fly Fishing brand.
Born and raised on the rivers and lakes of south Wales, Kieron Jenkins has become one of the leading competition anglers of our time. With multiple ‘Brown Bowls’ under his belt, along with a creditable fourth position at World level, fly fishing and fly tying has become his life, passion and obsession for Fulling Mill’s Digital Marketing Manager.
Kris Kent has been fly fishing for brown trout and grayling for over 20 years in the UK, Europe and Scandinavia. He is Chief Guide at Chalk Stream Dreams, Fishing Manager at Orvis Stockbridge, PR Officer for the Grayling Society and helps The Wild Trout Trust with their online communications and events.
Currently based in Cheshire, Phil is one of a new breed of up and coming instructors. He holds the highest single and double-handed casting qualifications in the UK and Internationally (APGAI – Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor) and the Fly Fishers International MCI – (Master Casting Instructor. Phil is endorsed by some of the leading tackle brands representing Fulling Mill as one of their Ambassadors and is an International Pro guide for the Sage,Rio and Redington brands.
Simon Robinson is based in the north of England where he now spends most of his spare time fishing for wild trout and grayling in his local rivers. Simon started his competition career at the age of 14 when he qualified for the England youth team captaining and winning the individual and team championships over the next four years.
Since 2000 he has been part of the various senior teams and has represented England in 18 World and European championships, winning team gold in the world championships in Scotland. On the home international scene he has over 20 caps in river, boat and bank championships, was the first angler to win the individual rivers title on more than one occasion and is also the only angler to win the individual international title in boat, bank and river disciplines.
England born Stan Moore is a Loop Ambassador. He currently resides in Scotland and fishes extensively across the UK and Ireland targeting trout, grayling, salmon and sea trout. Rivers and loch-style are his favourite disciplines competing nationally south of the border. Like most, presenting a dry fly to a wild fish, is his preferred method of fishing.
Steve Smalley has been fishing for over thirty years, firstly on the small freestone streams and rivers in the northwest of England moving on to the local small still waters and larger reservoirs. Steve has been on the competition circuit for many years starting in local competitions before progressing to national competitions, with the highlight representing England.
Steve is a member of the successful competition team, the Ospreys, as well as an ambassador for Vision Fly fishing UK. When not competing he ties his own flies where he enjoys experimenting with new and different materials.
A true all-round angler, Airflo’s Tim Hughes has fished all over the world in search of numerous species. Tim’s latest obsession is salmon on his local River Wye, although he will fish for practically anything that swims. Tim often combines his love of fly fishing with his excellent photography skills.
Having fly fished since the age of 14 Warren Langridge has turned his passion into a career, working for one of the largest tackle chains in the UK. His wealth of knowledge across the sport spans from competition fishing through to a particular passion for pike on the fly and night-time sea trout.
